Link Popularity Tips
Below are some more tips on how to improve your Link Popularity.
- All search engines has to index the pages that are linking to you
in order to improve your Link Popularity. If somebody links to you,
check if that page is already present in the search engines. If not,
submit that page manually in the Google, Yahoo! or MSN. Search engines
will crawl all the pages that your link may be on, but this may take
several weeks. If you want to obtain faster results, then submit the
pages that your links appear on manually.
- Ask similar sites to yours to link to you, or offer them a link
exchange.
- Post your site whenever you can on bulletin boards or on Free For
All Links (FFA) pages. Find sites that are related to yours, since
theme relevancy is a plus for your ranking.
- You can do a search in Google, AltaVista or Infoseek to see who
is currently linking to you by typing: link:www.yourdomain.com. In
most cases, some of the sites listed in one search engine may not
be listed in others. We recommend that after you find a list of sites
that are linking to you, resend them to all the major search engines.
- If your website provider offers web statistics with the list of the referring urls and domains, take advantage of it and monitor its activity. A referral log file will include the clicks from others to your site. If your hosting provider does not offer you souch a service then subscribe to third party web statistics like www.hotstats.eu.
